What is Member Care Media?

Member Care Media (MCM) is a media ministry of TWR (www.twr.org) specially prepared for cross-cultural workers whose obedience to the Great Commission has taken them to difficult regions.

The program content not only reminds them of God’s promise that He is with them to the very end of the earth, but also addresses changing needs from recruitment to retirement.

Mission Statement

Utilizing media to encourage and enhance cross-cultural Christian workers, to better enable them to fulfil the Great Commission.

Vision Statement:

• We see proactive member care being the norm, rather than the exception.

• We see communicating and loving missionary families, with a healthy balance of work, life and faith.

• We see healthy Third Culture Kids, valued as individuals in mission organisations and family.

• We see missionaries persevere in the midst of difficult circumstances, remaining on the field in spite of strong opposition.

• We see effective teams of Christian workers walking in unity.

• We see growing churches, serving God because Christian workers are spiritually, mentally and emotionally healthy.

What is Our Goal?

Our goal is to encourage cross-cultural workers in their places of calling so that they will stay effective and fulfilled.

Isolation due to culture, language or religion can discourage otherwise healthy Christian expatriate workers. Missionaries, tentmakers, and Christians on foreign business assignment all need encouragement to keep the ‘salty’ kingdom outlook on life that Jesus encouraged us to pursue.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, ex- cept to be thrown out and trampled by men. ” Matthew 5:13

Member Care

MCM’s core ministry is to Christian workers and their families, whose obedi- ence to the Great Commission has taken them to a cross-cultural setting. MCM programming content not only reminds them of God’s promise that He is with them to the very ends of the earth (Matthew 28:19), but also addresses the changing needs from recruitment to retirement.

Partnership/Networking

MCM believes that the most effective means of Member Care is a cooperative network of skills and gifts. We desire to enhance existing Member Care Ministries through the use of media, while being sensitive to the strengths of each ministry.

Each MCM programme maintains a high standard of professionalism in the selection of programming content, from topical research to the contributor addressing the issue. Our aim is to tackle concerns in a creative, interactive, and personal way as well as to balance experience and expertise. MCM is com- mitted to the targeted use of technology in providing media resources that meet the changing needs of a cross-cultural community.
